Class Visits

If you’re planning a school visit to WAM, this page will give you all the information a visit organiser needs to know.

What are the options for schools visiting WAM
You can bring your class for a customised WAM programme, a gallery staff guided or self-guided visit.

What should I do if I want to come on a gallery staff guided or self-guided visit with my class?
Both self-guided and gallery staff guided visits are most welcome. Please contact the art museum for more information.

If you would like a gallery staff guided visit please book your visit ahead of time by getting in contact with WAM staff. On arrival, please report to WAM staff at the reception area inside gallery one.

Programme times?
WAM’s opening hours are: 10am−4pm
Education programmes can be booked from 9.30am.
Gallery staff guided visits can be booked from 10am.
Please let us know your preferred start times when you make your booking.

Do you have a Risk Assesment Management (RAM) Form?
Yes! Please get in contact with WAM staff.

Adult supervision?
The minimum number of adults required to accompany all school groups is:

for secondary students – one adult to every twenty students
for primary students – one adult to every six students
for early childhood groups  – one adult to every four children
