INFINITELY VARIED | KELLIHER ART TRUST
Infinitely Varied features Prizewinning New Zealand Landscape Paintings from the Kelliher Art Award 1956-1977.
A survey of classic landscape paintings from the second half of the 20th century by some of the country’s best-known resident artists of the era. With the objective to capture the “essential character of the New Zealand scene and the ways of life of its people and thereby to develop a livelier appreciation of the fine arts and of the infinitely varied aspects of our land.”
Join us as we hear more about the collection from the curator of the Kelliher Arts Trust, Christopher Johnstone.
His career as an art museum curator and administrator began at the Tate Gallery, London followed by senior positions at national and state art museums in Edinburgh, Perth and Adelaide. He was director of the Auckland Art Gallery from 1988-1995 and is the author of numerous publications.
