LOOKING AT CONTEMPORARY ART IN AN OUTDOOR CONTEXT
Following on from our successful trip last year, we would like to offer another Art Trip, this time to Brickbay Sculpture Park and The Vivian in the Warkworth region.
The Brickbay Sculpture Park is host to a number of well known contemporary NZ artists who are commissioned to respond with site specific works to fit into the natural environment. We will have a personalized tour with Jonathan Organ, the manager of the park. In the afternoon, we will catch The Flower Show at The Vivian.
We will be given an introduction by Mandy Thomsett-Taylor. Check out their last “Flower Show” on their website and you won’t want to miss this one. This will be followed up with an informal discussion for the art trippers and general friends on the 9th April to share insights and the impact of seeing the exhibitions in these two contexts.
Proposed Date: Wednesday 6th April
Follow Up Informal Talk: Sat 9th April 10.30am – 11.30am (tea, coffee and scones)
Places Available: 8 – First in first served.
