Whangārei Art Museum Trust is leading the development of an exciting new art precinct, set to become a unique cultural destination for global visitors. Located in Whangārei City, the gateway to the sub-tropical north – the precinct is currently under construction and features the iconic Hundertwasser Art Centre, Wairau Māori Art Gallery and Whangārei Art Museum (WAM). The aim is to bring prosperity to the region and to transform people’s lives through the power of art and nature.

We are currently hiring for the new part-time position of:

Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Purpose

Promote and support the positioning of Whangārei Art Museum as Northland’s leading public art museum and a major cultural facility, with a strong community following. Conceive and develop social media conversations and online content for WAM and the Hundertwasser Project – fueling conversations around the profound relationship between people, the environment and art.

We are seeking a smart, creative, social media-savvy and organized marketer, who can work independently alongside our friendly team. Possessing strong writing skills, the successful applicant will be a problem solver, who can devise online content, manage data, build membership and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will have worked in a consumer-facing or audience-building role.
